    In March 1786, John Wise witnessed the deed of Lewis Gurley to Arthur Daughtrey, both of Wayne County (Wayne County NC Deed Bk 3, p. 165).

Nathaniell Harrison. 80 acres part granted John Mayson in March 1715, & sold to William Wise in June 1723, who sold to said Shands in December 1726 (Cavaliers & Pioneers, Vol. III, p. 341).

    In June 1727, William Wise of Surry County, VA was granted 280 acres of new land in Brunswick County, on the south side of Fountain's Creek; adjacent to John Parson; on the north side of Cattale Creek; William Heath; & William Shands line (Cavaliers & Pioneers, Vol. III, p. 327).

    In September 1728, William Wise was granted 150 acres in Brunswick County on Cataile Creek, on the south side of Maherin River; adjacent to William Shands (Cavaliers & Pioneers, Vol. III, p. 387).
  • Research Note*: 26 January 2013; Surry County records should be checked for William Wise, since William was in Surry in 1723. He was probably from the Wise family of Accomack County, so records there should be checked as well.
