  Mr. Stewart was born in Texas. He came to Stockton 33 years ago and was a tool drinder at Marley Co. for 25 years. He was a Church of God Seventh-day Adventist member.
  He is survived by his wife, Alta of Stockton; two daughters and a son; a brother Allen Stewart of Texas, and five grandchildren.⁴

  He was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Childress to Homer and Carrie Seymour Stewart. He moved to Castro County in 1931 and from Hereford to Friona in 1948. He married Emma Lou Smith on June 1, 1945, in Hereford.
  
  He was a watchmaker and jeweler and obtained his gemology degree in 1956 from the American Gemological Institute in Los Angeles. He opened Allen's Jewelry in 1948 in Friona, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Germany with the U.S. Army 84th Infantry Railsplitters, 333rd Division, receiving the bronze star. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and Disabled American Veterans.
  
  Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Stewart and wife Mary of Amarillo; a daughter, Margie Sanders and husband Johnny of San Angelo; three granddaughters, Donna Kuchar, Sheryl Stewart and Bobbie Jo Martin; two great-granddaughters, Savannah Kuchar and Britni Dozier; and a great-grandson, John Allen Dozier.
  
  The family suggests memorials be to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 276, Friona, TX 79035; or Prairie Acres Nursing Home, 201 E. 15th St., Friona, TX 79035.²
