  The house at 6911 Nashville was torn down in 1946 and after the new house was completed. The old house sat to the rear of the large and deep yard while the new house was built closer to the street. The newer house is still standing and occupied. I do not have any pictures of the old house but may a picture of the new house.....advise if needed The old house was a one storywith a dirt floor in the basement. It contained five rooms heated by a pot belly stove in the center room where all six kids slept. Mom and Dad slept in the front room. The winter months were rough as we all usually slept with clothes or long johns. In the winter, we all took baths in a wash tub located in the center room near the stove There was a bath room with a tub but not heated so not used in the cold winters. The rooms in the house were called the kitchen, center room, front room, empty room and bath room. The center room contained two beds where John, Donald and James slept in one bed and Lillian and Maureen slept in the other. Patrick slept in a basket fo a long time.
