She was a lifelong member of the Northside United Pentecostal Church and retired owner/operator of BB Ceramic Shop in Fort Smith. She was born July 23, 1925, in Fort Smith to Virgil Barney and Edna Ruth Silva Bevel.
  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billy F. Bales of the home; one daughter, Diana Ruth O’Bryan of Fort Smith; and one granddaughter, Bridgett Ruth O’Bryan of Spring Branch, Texas.
  
  She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Griffin McDaniel.
  Funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Northside United Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
  Pallbearers will be Jule Wise, Wendell Mastin, Jessie Nickell, Gene Willyard, Lawrence Brautigan and Anthony Allen.
  Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Esteemed Elder Class.
  The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home today from 2-4 p.m.
  Memorials may be made to the Northside United Pentecostal Church, 3700 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, AR 72904.
