Frederick Duane Peace

  • Death*: 12 October 2010; Eureka Springs, Carroll Co., Arkansas; Fred was my friend and mentor. He hired me at Ambassador College, Pasadena, in 1973. I remember him fondly.1
  • Obituary*: say 13 October 2010; Frederick Peace of Eureka Springs died of heart failure Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville. He was 70.

    Born in Niles, Mich., he was the oldest son of Frederick and Arbella Peace, now deceased.

    Fred grew up on a farm in Iowa, and attended the University of Iowa where he completed a Master's Degree in Business. He was conferred with a Ph.D. in Marketing from American International University.

    After living and working many years in the Los Angeles area, Fred suffered a stroke in 2001 and relocated to Arkansas with the assistance of his brother, Jon (now deceased), and Twyla Pease.

    Survivors include two sons, Dustin of Chico, Calif., and Roderick and his wife, Lana, and their sons, Daniel and Alex of Bozeman, Mont.; three sisters, Sharon Branstater, Cheryl Carlson, and Karen Carvalho; and sister-in-law, Twyla Pease of Eureka Springs.

    A memorial service to celebrate Frederick's life and transition will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Eureka Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 17 Elk.
