Biography*: Leroy Wynn Jackson and family moved to Covington Co, AL in the fall of 1921, where they remained until after Leroy Wynn's death in 1943. In the fall of 1945, Rossie Blanche and her son A.D. (who was living with her) moved to Niceville, Fl, to be near her daughter Edna Luvenia and her husband, Willie Blue Reeves. All four of them eventually died in Niceville, FL.

Alma Virginia (Jackson) Powell & family
Biography*: between 1928 and 1932; Alma and her children lived in Bradley, Georgia near Macon from 1928 until about 1932. Her daughter Pat writes "The years we lived there were pure hell. We almost starved to death in the winters. All we had to eat was hominy and sweet potatoes that Mama and Herman buried in the ground with a lining of pine straw to hold the heat. Even so, half of them were frost bitten by the time winter came. We ate them anyway."

The family had a hard time after William died. I believe he was a share cropper. By the time I came along Grandma was running a dairy in Phenix City, AL and a number of the children helped in the dairy. (Jo Elder)
