Elizabeth J. Halsey

F, b. circa 1813, d. 1861
  • Last Edited: 2 May 2018
  • Biography*: Elizabeth and Henry were married in Troup Co. GA in 1832, and marriages were recorded in the county of the bride's residence. The only Halsey family in Troup County in 1832 was that of Benjamin L. Halsey. The 1830 census show he had a daughter the right age to be Elizabeth. Elizabeth and her husband were living the second door away from Benjamin L. Holsey (Halsey) in 1840 Chambers Co. AL. So the circumstantial evidence in favor of Elizabeth being the daughter of Benjamin L. Halsey is quite strong.
