- Biography*: The following appeared in the local paper when Graves died: Pioneer Citizen Passes Away - Graves Eaves Succumbs After a Short Illness of Fever. Mr. Graves Eaves, one of the oldest and best known citizens of Haralson county, died at his home near Draketown on Thursday of last week, after an illness of only a few days of fever. The deceased was 78 years of age at the time of his death. He leaves a devoted wife, four children and hundreds of relatives and friends to mourn his passing away. He had been a resident of this county for many years, was always an active and energetic man, both mentally and physically, giving liberally of his time, labor and sympathy in homes of sickness and death. In religion he early developed the habit of weighing things in the balance of reason, discarding that which did not harmonize with the Creator's plans as he saw God's laws in the big book of Nature. He believed in doing good for the sake of humanity and not in the fear of the anger and vengeance of a higher power. He was laid to rest Friday afternoon in the buying ground at Pineywoods church, with Masonic honors.
