Death*: 9 August 2012; Durham, Durham Co., North Carolina; Mrs. Frances Land McDonald, 91, died early Thursday at the Hock Family Pavilion. Mrs. McDonald was born in Decatur, Ga., the daughter of the late John Steven Land and the late Winnie Wheeler Land.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cameron McDonald, who she was the long time co-owner with of McDonald's Drug Store on Ninth Street in Durham.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by two wonderful children, Karen Lynn McDonald (David) of Greensboro; and a son, John "Cam" McDonald Jr. (Karen) of Durham. She was loved by her five grandchildren, John Cameron McDonald III (Samantha) of Chevely, MD, Melissa and Scott of their home in Durham, and Kevin and Catherine McDonald of their home in Greensboro. Mrs. McDonald also has many loving and dedicated friends and customers over the years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Dr. Clay Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 28, for Allen Jackson Rowe, 91, retired farmer and rancher, who died last Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. F. Owen, 411 Lake Cliff Drive, in Dallas, Texas.

The services were held at the First Baptist Church in Davis, Okla., Rev. K. M. Anderson, officiating. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery.

Born Jan. 4, 1861, in Rocky Mount, Ga., Rowe moved to Davis in the Oklahoma Indian Territory in 1903 and lived there until coming to Dallas. He was a Mason, and a deacon in the First Baptist Church for many years.

Surviving are five sons, John W. Rowe of Rush Springs, Okla.; James A. Rowe of Davis, Okla.; M. A. Rowe of Henryetta, Okla.; V. L. Rowe, of Ranger, Texas; and H. F. Rowe of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Mrs. C. E. Green of Toleson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Ethell Scruggs and Mrs. B. F. Owen, both of Dallas; a brother, Albert Rowe, of Lutherville, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Etta Key, of Atlanta, Ga.; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren.⁴
