- Biography*: Uncle Bill was the youngest of the boys. He was Assistant Mine Supervisor of the Sayreton Mine until two months before the explosion he was transferred. J.E. and Bill were on there way to the mine when the siren went off. I think Bill went down into the mine to get Staples and then went to the hospital with him. I, Linda Bailey, do not know if J.E. went with.
