Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Cal Goerdel officiating. Burial will be at the Norse Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
  
  Florence Marie was born to the late Pauline (Kunkel) Bartels and William Bartels of Priddy. She was baptized on Jan. 8, 1922, and confirmed on April 28, 1935. She met and married Roy Jacob Freeman of Rule, Texas, on Aug. 24, 1944. While her husband served in the U. S. Army, stationed at Camp Ellis, Ill., Bonnie was employed by Sheaffer Pen Company of Ft. Madison, Iowa. After he returned from the service, they farmed at Priddy where she took employment with the General Telephone Company in Brownwood. At this time, the couple were blessed with two children, Linda and Robert.
  
  The couple searched for a place to farm in Bosque County and in February 1952, they purchased the old Ringness home place, one of the first settlements in the Norse Community. They placed their membership with Our Savior's Lutheran Church at that time. She enjoyed going to church and was active in the Bee Hill Boggy Circle. Following 18 years at General Telephone, she worked for a number of years at Walls Manufacturing Co. in Clifton.
  
  During the years, all her friends and neighbors were privileged to enjoy the fruits of her labor, her wonderful gardens and her homemade breads. Despite her declining health during the past several years, her husband helped her to live out her wishes to remain on the farm for as long as she could. She spent her last month as a resident at the Sunset Home in Clifton, where she reflected on life as she reconnected with old friends from the Norse Community and her days of working at Walls.
  
  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy.
  
  Survivors include her son, Robert Freeman, of Clifton; daughter, Linda Freeman Woodward and husband, Jerry, of Midland; granddaughter, Jenifer Seay, of Midland; great-granddaughters, Alexia Seay and Amberly Anderson; and sister, Irene Eickenhorst, of Alvin.²
