  • Biography*: Nicholas Perry was a prominent landowner in Pike or Meriwether County, GA. My suspicion is that he might descend from the Perry family of London and Virginia. A book was written about them, "Perry of London, A Family and A Firm on the Seaborne Frontier, 1615 - 1753," by Jacob M. Price. It is a history, rather than a genealogy, but does mention some genealogy as well. So this might be an interesting line for someone to trace.

  • (Groom) Marriage*: Bride=Lucy S. (?)
  • (Child) Birth*: circa 1783; North Carolina
  • (head of family) 1850 Census*: 1 June 1850; Meriwether Co., Georgia1
  • (Deceased) Death*: circa 1853; Meriwether Co., Georgia
  • Research Note*: November 2010; From Rebecca Starr:

One source of your Nicholas Perry might be from the Nicholas Perry who left a Rev Pension Appl. He was son of Nicholas Perry and Mourning Spier, who was eldest son of John Perry b c1690 VA d1760 Bertie. This Nicholas Perry b Hertford co, NC went to Wake Co, md 1. Rachel Scott 2. Elizabeth Ward. He left numerous offspring, few of whom I have tried to trace. He moved with some of his children to TN where he died and left a will. I would look among his children or grandchildren for your Nicholas who went to GA2

Family: Lucy S. (?) b. c 1796
